It is always so hard for me to wait to share Bridal portraits! While they are traditionally a southern wedding expectation, therefore not loved by all, we really enjoy them. It is basically a playground for Tim+I as photographers. We have a stunning bride, glowing in her new dress, beautiful surroundings, and plenty of hands to help:)

This past weekend Kelly +Louis were married, and we look forward to the day that we can share all of the details of their story, but for now that is all under wraps.

So, enjoy the stunning portraits of Kelly mere weeks before the big day, romping around in the orchards of Royalty Pecan Farm.

Kelly's jewelry were a very special gift from her now mother-in-law. The very first jewelry that Louis' late father gave to his mother, and they now belong to his own wife. So special.

About a month ago, we had the privileged of taking some bridal pictures of Kayla Dickson (now Howell!!!) Of course we couldn't show the pictures to the world because the world was chock full of a fiance who hadn't gotten to see her in her dress yet. Just so full. Consequently, we have been sitting on these pictures for....ev...er.

A little about the shoot; We had been out to Rock Lake Ranch for Sarah's Bridal shoot and also for Nic and Sarah's wedding. Loved it. And, since, Kayla was getting married in a church and the reception was at her grandparents still-unfinished-house we had a decision to make. To us, Kayla seemed more like the modern-country bride (which is what we at Fidelis love so much). Thus immediately we thought of Rock Lake Ranch. If you haven't gotten out there to talk to the family that runs it, and maybe you have some sort of event coming up (e.g. weddings, reunions, corporate hot-tubbing retreat, whatever) it is a pleasure talking to these folks. For instance, while we are out there with  Kayla, trying to stay out of the way of the wedding rehearsal that was happening on the main lawn, the owner of the venue pulls up in this beautiful, vintage, just waxed, blue pickup that was his personal pickup. Asked if we'd like to use it and what was the best way to position it for the lighting. Genius. Kayla flipped out. Kristen flipped out. and I squealed like a sorority girl during rush week. This exemplifies how fun a shoot can be when everything is just clicking perfectly (no pun intended).

We hope you like these pictures. Be on the lookout for Drew and Kayla's wedding post coming soon!

One of the reasons I love when a wedding is complete, (most of the time it is a bitter sweet thing for me, because our clients rock the party for sure) is that we get to post bridal sessions on the blog! Our grooms are way too sneaky to be trusted with a post of their bride-to-be before the wedding. Bridal portraits are the best way to celebrate the beauty of the bride and I am especially excited to be able to feature such a sweet woman today. The wedding was perfect. Beautiful weather, beautiful couple, and a really beautiful new wedding venue, Rock Lake Ranch. Enjoy how gorgeous Sarah looked for her bridals!

This is our friend Jen. I mean that when I say friend. We knew her a long time before she decided that her now-husband, Andrew, would do just fine, and that now was the time to settle down and put her wild ways behind her. Ok, maybe she really didn't have "wild" ways, but she is pretty awesome. Pretty gorgeous too. We've been holding on to these pics for a while at her request. She didn't want Andrew to catch a peek at the dress. Understandable, but we're glad we get to put them up now. Enjoy.

bride eyes and green wall
bride smiles at you in front of green wall. you think, "she likes me. she really likes me"

This was the Shelby that she and her siblings all drove to school. After the last one graduated her father fixed it up beautifully to be a great get away car from the wedding reception. Rock and roll.

the bride leans against her 62 shelby mustange. look at how rock
and roll she is. classy
a view behind as bride sits in car. there is a cross processesing treatment that vintage-izes.

Her Father had wayyy too much fun peeling out for this shot.

here, the bride is in a speeding car with the background rushing by. super awesome action shot
bride sitting in swanky hotel lobby. yeah, she hangs out in cooler
 places than everyone else.

Pow! The eyes on this girl!

want to swim in those baby blues
